Welcome to the Local Theater Database Beta Test!
Thank you for being one of the first people here. You’re helping shape a place built for one simple idea: following local theater (and the people who make it possible) should be easy, and it shouldn’t require a social media feed.
This site is a home for our community theater scene here in Eastern Mass. Every show, every cast, every company, all connected. Tap a name in a cast list and you’ll see everything that person has done. Tap the show and you’ll see every local production of it. Tap the company and you’ll see their seasons.
What you can do right now
Add a production.
- One form adds the show, the company, the venue, and the whole cast and crew. If something’s already in the database, the form will find it as you type.
Upload posters and photos.
- Each production page takes its colors from its own poster, so add one and watch the page come to life.
Claim your page.
- If you’ve been in a show, your stage history may already be here. Find your name, tap “Is this you?”, and once verified you can choose your headshot, write a bio, and fill in missing credits.
Follow people and companies.
- When someone you follow is cast in a new show, you’ll get a notification on the site.
Use your calendar.
- Mark shows you want to see, pick the night you’re going, and see it all on your theater calendar. You can add any performance to your phone’s calendar in one tap.
Coming soon
Contributor points and badges, a weekly Hotlist of the most-visited shows, EMACT nominations and wins, and a refreshed home page.
What I’d love from you
Use it the way you naturally would. Add a show you were in. Look up a friend. Follow a few people. Then tell me:
- What was confusing?
- What did you expect to find that wasn’t there?
- What broke?
Send feedback to me! Nothing is too small. If a button felt odd or a word was unclear, I want to know!
A few ground rules
- Adults only. No one under 18 can be listed on the site, including youth productions.
- Only upload photos you took, are publicly available, or have permission to share.
- Everything new goes through a quick review before it appears publicly, so don’t worry if your submission doesn’t show up instantly.
This is a beta, so things will occasionally break or change. Thank you for your patience, and for helping build something our theater community can call its own.
Thanks for checking it out!
